It was an act of God – get OVER it already!

Via The Washington Post – In the 48 hours before Hurricane Katrina hit, the White House received detailed warnings about the storm’s likely impact, including eerily prescient predictions of breached levees, massive flooding, and major losses of life and property, documents show.

In the 48 hours before Hurricane Katrina – the ENTIRE freakin’ WORLD was receiving warnings of the storm’s likely impact.  So what’s the point?

Yes, there were buses – lots of buses – but what was missing?  BUS DRIVERS!  They heard the warnings and got the hell out of Dodge!

Yes, there were predictions of breached levees – but tell me this – Just WHO do those doin’ the bitchin’ think would be able to plan and secure these levees in 48 HOURS?  Hindsight is always 20/20 isn’t it?

Yes, there was major threat to life – but with so many people having actually heard the warnings and left town who was left behind to play hero?  Even hero’s have their limits.

Hurricane Katrina was an act of God.  An uncontrollable, undeniable tragedy – Get OVER It already!

Stop playing the blame game, stop turning it into something racist and descriminating.  She gave her warnings well in advance, it was up to the people in her path to make their choices to stay or leave – And to communicate with family and friends they know who may not have had access to these warnings.

Amercan’s came together yet again to pick up a large part of the tab.

It’s time people stop trying to blame their own acts of stupidity and defiance against orders to leave on The White House, The Government and Public Service and take responsibility for their own actions and choices.

Yes, I feel bad for those who lost their homes – who lost loved ones, but even from the comforts of Indiana – I recall screaming at the television for people to get OUT of Katrina’s path.

If I could hear Katrina’s warnings while being landlocked and hundreds of miles away, why couldn’t those who would be answering the door when she came knocking hear the same warnings?

It should be interesting to see just how far Sugar Ray Nagin tries to take and encourage the blame.
