It’s okay to change your mind

Yep, that’s right! It’s okay to change your mind.

Some people say, “Well, doesn’t that make you a hypocrite?” No way, dude!

Look, there are some subjects that are not negotiable. Each person has to decide on their own what they are willing or not willing to tweak.

If you think you know it all and have no room left in your brain to learn anything new, or to try and think outside the box a little bit, well, then I kind of feel sorry for you.

Politicians who flip flop –

There are politicians who flip flop all the time. Some people say, “Well, isn’t it their right to change their mind?”

Well, sure, but you have to keep it all in context and try to figure out why they are changing their mind. It only becomes a “Flip Flop” when they say one thing and do another for political advantage.

If a politician is changing their mind because they feel they have to lie, cheat, or scheme to advance an agenda, then that’s FLIP FLOPPING gone wrong.

Those kind of flip floppers are a major pain in the ass.

Regular people who change their minds –

I used to consider myself pretty liberal when I was in my 20s and early 30s. Sadly, if it had not been for that awful terrorist attack on our soil I would have gone about the business of minding my own business.

I wasn’t really interested in politics and am ashamed that it took something as horrible as 9/11 to make me change gears and start paying attention.

People who change their minds as a result of research, circumstances, with the intent not to manipulate or to do harm, but do so thoughtfully, because they don’t know everything, but are still willing to learn, do so with PURE motives.

It truly is a matter of the heart.

You have to examine the motive of the person and go from there.

Pray about it. Ask God to show you what you need to see but only if it will accomplish His will for you in Christ.

In many ways, I’m glad large groups of people are not in agreement at the moment, not because I gravitate toward chaos, but because it means people are truly starting to pay attention to what’s happening around them.

I’d rather have more people with blinders off than with blinders on. I sure as hell don’t want to fall into a ditch and drag my family with me because I wasn’t paying attention.

So, during this political season – don’t be afraid to change your mind and don’t let anyone try to guilt you or shame you as a result.

It’s gonna be, what’s it’s gonna be.

Pat yourself on the back for being the teachable human being that you are and keep truckin’ along.

At the end of the day, I want what God wants for my life. If God doesn’t want something for me, I don’t want it either.

It’s a matter of the heart and God sees my heart and knows what my motives are, and if I want to change my mind about something, I will.

Have a great weekend, ya'll!
