Jim Bob and Michelle Dugger Heartbroken Over Show Cancellation and Want to Return to Television – Really?

The cancellation of the hit show 19 Kids and Counting came two months after a 2006 police report surfaced revealing that Josh Duggar had been accused at age 14 of molesting five underage girls – including two of his sisters, Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald. (He apologized and said he had “acted inexcusably” after the report became public.)

According to sources, the evangelical Christian family is reportedly heartbroken that they've now lost their platform to discuss their religious faith.

“The Duggars want to return to TV because they truly believe it was part of God's plan for them to spread the word about their faith,” the source says.

God’s plan? I would think protecting your children and not sweeping a molestation under the rug would be in God’s plan FIRST!

Personally, I have NEVER been a fan of the show. NO set of parents can possibly PARENT 19 children. They relied too heavily on the older children to parent the younger children. And since the story broke of the molestation accusations, I have yet to hear them take responsibility for any wrong-doing.

I'm sure they will miss being on television. Perhaps they'll have to get real jobs or a few, to support their large family. I'm sure the financial rewards of having a sponsored family were easy to get used to. It will be a difficult adjustment.

I'm sure they hoped the story would die down and just go away like they had put it behind them, all those years ago.

What happened in their family is NO small matter that can be prayed away. It is a real problem in the world today and how they have handled it is a large part of why it is such an enormous problem in our world as it is. Don't believe it – just take a look at ALL the molesters that are listed on MugWatch.org – with more being added frequently. It's a HUGE problem!

People want to keep that stuff private and deal with it within the confines of the family unit – well, it's not a small problem like kids fighting over clothes or common child/teen antics.

I'm glad TLC cancelled the show and I hope they never consider bringing it back.
