President Trump Good on His Promise – Day One

President Trump executive orders day one

President Trump spent his first full business day in office signing three major executive orders, each one was part of the campaign promises he made to American voters last year.

Executive Order #1: Immediately withdraw the U.S. from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a multilateral free-trade agreement between the U.S. and eleven other countries. Even Bernie Sanders spoke out with praise with this statement:

“I am glad the Trans-Pacific Partnership is dead and gone,” Sanders said. “For the last 30 years, we have had a series of trade deals — including the North American Free Trade Agreement, permanent normal trade relations with China and others — which have cost us millions of decent-paying jobs and caused a ‘race to the bottom’ which has lowered wages for American workers. Now is the time to develop a new trade policy that helps working families, not just multinational corporations. If President Trump is serious about a new policy to help American workers, then I would be delighted to work with him.”

Executive Order #2: Mexico City policy also known as the “global gag rule” which blocks U.S. taxpayer funds from going to international family-planning organizations that provide abortion related services.

Yes America, you have been funding abortions in other countries. Who knew?

Executive Order #3: President Trump has imposed a hiring freeze throughout the federal government on non-military workers. This is the first step toward ending waste, fraud and abuse that will ultimately result in that promise to “drain the swamp.”

My friend Angela sent me a text earlier that read “Finally, a President doing what we’ve elected him to do!”

My response: “I told you, he will NOT settle for anything less than going down in the history books as the BEST President EVAH!”

I said it throughout the campaign season and I stand behind my comment to this day.

He was supposed to do a lot more than that on his first day! Where’s the rest of his list?

      1. I hardly consider a rag from Chicago a reliable resource. They like fake news and to split hairs. They are beyond butthurt that their native son’s legacy is being threatened.
      2. He’s already made more progress FOR American’s on day 1 than Obama did in 8 years. Obama was all about legacy – Trump is all about the people who got him there.
I’m pleased as punch at what he has accomplished so far.

I am with ya Gayla. Put your seat belts on and hold on people, The Trump Train is rolling

Thanks! I’ve said from day 1. The fact that he does not accept failure should be a clear indication that he WILL be good on his word and get our country back on course in both economy, jobs and security.

I was listening to one of the commentators on tv, he said that Trump needs to keep promises he made to the American people! When have any of the presidents besides Trump kept their promises? I agree with Gayla, he has done more than Obama. To James, he has 4 yrs to make things right. Look what he has done in a few days, can’t wait to see what’s in store for the following years. Hopefully Trump won’t want to fly everywhere for fun like the Obama’s!

  3. Yes! President Trump is truly a man of his word, and I’m confident he will get all the things he promised done in due time. And way to go, Bernie! Maybe that will get some of those anti-Trump voters who supported Sanders thinking in a different, and better, direction.
    Blessings, Gayla!
