I am SO very disappointed in Meryl Streep. For many years, Bridges of Madison County has been one of my favorite movies I've owned it on DVD and have kept a recording on DVR for a very long time. There were several other films she’s starred in that ranked among my favorites, but I have absolutely watched my last Meryl Streep film.
Meryl was quick to criticize someone for using their position of power and influence to allegedly attack another person, which by the way has been PROVEN to be part of that “fake news” that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have been condemning so much lately. YET, she CHOSE to abuse HER position of power and influence as a Golden Globe “lifetime achievement” winner to lecture the attendees who were obviously a captive audience and to television viewers, who thank God, could turn the channel.
Meryl COULD have chosen to write an op-ed or take out an ad in the New York Times. She did not. Meryl COULD have chosen to arrange an interview with any one of the Liberal-biased media networks. She did not. Instead, she chose to seize the moment at one of the most watched award shows of the year.
That is NOTHING to be respected! It is disgraceful AND distasteful. Especially considering, in 2003, Streep (and many other top names in Hollywood) were quick to give convicted CHILD rapist Roman Polanski a standing ovation when he won the Academy Award for Best Director for “The Pianist.”

In case you’re unfamiliar with WHO Roman Polanski is… here's the long story short…
In 1977, after a photo shoot in Los Angeles, Polanski was arrested for the rape of 13-year-old Samantha Geimer and pleaded guilty to the charge of statutory rape. He was released from prison after serving 42 days and was told that the prosecutors had agreed to ask for him to be put on probation. When he learned that the judge planned to reject the plea bargain, he fled to Paris before sentencing. He publicly offered his apology to Geimer, telling her that he regretted the episode. In September 2009, he was arrested by Swiss police and later released after Swiss authorities denied a U.S. request for his extradition. In October 2015, after another request for extradition, a judge in Poland refused the request.
It kind of “broke her heart” when she saw EXACTLY what mainstream media wanted her to see – without considering Mr. Trump had used the SAME EXACT gestures when referencing flustered responses from others, including Ted Cruz who is obviously not disabled in any way. Shame on you Meryl Streep. And shame on you, to every member of the Hollywood Elite who supports the despicable actions of an actress who couldn't let the night be about celebration, awards and beautiful gowns – but rather, HAD to steal the entire spotlight with her political opinion and Clinton loyalty.
I would love to know WHY Meryl jumps to her feet in applause for a convicted child rapist, but criticizes our next President for a MYTH designed to help a lying, cheating crook when the most respected seat in our great nation?

Thanks Martha. I absolutely cannot believe she used that night for her own political platform. I’m developing a serious shaking head syndrome over this whole election season and moving into the inauguration. It’s insane!
