There was a segment on the news this morning that focused on tracking OUR tax dollars. Many of you might be surprised where it’s going. The list below is how our tax dollars are being spent.
Republican senator Jeff Flake wants to put a lid on what he considers wasteful spending, but scientists are defending their research claiming the goldfish study aims to understand how sensory systems work. Frankly, after doing my own research into some of the wasteful spending studies – I call BS.
This is just one small example of how our “establishment” government has been spending OUR tax dollars and the kind of wasteful spending I trust Donald Trump will reign in and hopefully, put an end to.
This is such a poor excuse for spending our tax dollars. Have a look. Note, this is only a SMALL sampling of the type of studies that are being conducted on our dime.
Wasteful Spending and Bogus Studies:
Yerkes National Primate Research Center: A study that uses chimps to research why yawning is contagious. Cost: $1 Million Dollars
National Science Foundation: Built a robot of a dog to see how many shakes it takes to get dry. Cost: $390,000
National Science Foundation: Study to determine if cheerleaders are more attractive in a group versus individually. Cost: $1.1 Million
National Science Foundation and NIH: A study placing male and female goldfish in two different tanks. The males were injected with a hormone to determine if they would “feel more sexy” and swim toward the female tank. Cost: $3.9 Million
National Science Foundation: Study to determine where it hurts most to get stung by a bee. Cost: $1.1 Million.
National Science Foundation: Gator Gouging. This study was to determine if alligators can outrun dinosaurs. Cost: $1.9 Million
NIH: Study to determine why people see the face of Jesus on toast. Cost: $3.5 Million.
National Science Foundation: Study to determine how we can predict America’s Next Top Model. Cost: $1 Million
