There was a time when I focused heavily on the Law of Attraction and through that focus, several accounts of success and prosperity came to me, quite naturally. I will share my own success stories that I attribute to the use of LOA a bit later, but for now, I want to revisit what the Law of Attraction is and how to apply it, starting today! It’s what I need to do and probably, something you can use too!
Psychologists, religious leaders and many people in general have talked about the Law of Attraction for years. However, The Law of Attraction gained tremendous popularity when the book “The Secret” made waves in 2006. I happen to be one of those who has read the book (several times) and purchased the DVD, which I used to watch or listen to, daily.
Over the last several months, I have received signs, if you will, that I have lost my way, and have suffered the effects and powers of negative thoughts.
I’m very good at preaching “signs” and to pay attention to the signs around you as a means to guide you on your journey through the most troubling times, but, I’ve become a real hypocrite. I got into a pattern of allowing my life and time to be consumed with negative influences. Knowing what I know, I realize I have invited negativity into my life and allowed it to dictate every aspect of my life.
It’s time to cancel out all that negativity and get back to a belief system that I know works and works well.

Thoughts become things.
We are what we think – whether it’s good or bad.
I was first introduced to the Law of Attraction through an Oprah episode. Oprah is a believer of the law and devoted an episode of her show to how it is changing lives.
Whether or not you believe in the power of the universe, there is scientific research that proves the effects of positive thinking.

You Attract Good or Bad Experiences with Your Thoughts
“The one who speaks most about illness has illness. The one who speaks about prosperity has prosperity,” Esther and Jerry Hicks write. “You attract all of it.” By focusing on something, you make it happen.
Thinking About Something Means You Invite It In Even If You Don’t Want It
“When you think a little thought of something that you want, through the Law of Attraction, that thought grows larger and larger, and more and more powerful.” Keep your thoughts positive. When your thoughts turn to negative, simply tell yourself to “cancel” that thought and replace it with something positive.
The More You Focus on Something, The More Powerful It Becomes
This allows you to create your own reality by “attracting” the experiences you want. You often bring bad things on yourself through worry.
Trust Your Emotions Rather Than Over-thinking a Decision
Listen to your intuition. Instead of over thinking decisions, let your emotions tell you what is right and what is wrong.
Make Good Things Happen More Quickly by Thinking About Them More
“Want” and “desire” consists of wanting “to focus attention on a subject, while at the same time experiencing positive emotion. When you give your attention to a subject that brings positive emotion, it will come very quickly into your experience.”
To Invite Change, You Have To See Things As You Want Them To Be, Not As They Are
This concept is something many successful people know and practice. It’s called visualization. Michael Phelps spoke about picturing himself winning every night before bed. If you visualize your success, love, and life as you want it, you are sending out the positive forces needed to make it your reality. “In order to effect true positive change in your experience, you must disregard how things are — as well as how others are seeing you — and give more of your attention to the way you prefer things to be” according to the book.
Increase Your Magnetic Power by Devoting Time to “Powerful Thinking” Every Day
Spend 15 minutes every day thinking about your goals, dreams and what you want from life. These positive thought sessions increase your chances for success.
Success Is Not a Finite Resource – Everyone Can Have It
When others around you are successful, this does not limit your success. By attracting abundance to yourself, you are not limiting others, according to the book.
Do Not Wallow or Focus on Disappointment
Being disappointed attracts more disappointment and is a sign that you’re not getting what you want in life. Instead, think about how to get what you want instead of placing focus on what you don’t have.
Avoid TV Shows That Deal With Negative Experiences
By tuning in to shows or news that focuses on crime, illness or deprivation, you are letting this stuff in which makes you think about it more. What happens is, that thought process increases the odds of it could happening to you. “Your attention to anything is drawing it closer to you,” according to the book.
Know That Your Relationships with Others are Bad Because You Made Them Bad
Focusing or thinking about the negative can destroy personal relationships. This approach can help free us from bad relationships. “Nothing can come into your experience without your personal attraction to it,” according to the book.
It’s amazing how placing a bit of intense focus on the positive and the powers of the Law of Attraction, can improve your outlook.
