Gayla Baer-Taylor on Risk & Reward with Deirdre Bolton and Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Yesterday afternoon I appeared on Fox Business Channel’s Risk & Reward with Deirdre Bolton and Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Which by the way, I had no idea I would appear on the same show with one of my personal heroes, Sheriff Joe! I was thrilled to say the least! Here is the interview in the two segments from the show.

Segment 1:

Segment 2:

Before the show, I knew my topic would be Why you’re supporting Trump and reaction to democrat illegal immigration deportation policies.

As part of the preparation for appearing on the show, I engaged in an email exchange with producers to cover the basics. I wanted to share my own notes made before going so you can see what I hoped to cover. Those notes are here:

Why I am supporting Donald Trump:

I have been a lifelong Democrat and supported Hillary Clinton in her last run. I took my kids to see her in Anderson, Indiana. I have also been very loyal to former Senator Evan Bayh. For a long time, I thought I wanted Hillary in the White House because that was a way of getting Bill back. More of that is discussed in my previous interview on Fox and Friends the day before. I shared those details here.

My support of Donald is due to the fact that I have followed him for many years in business and have read many of his books and I feel confident Mr. Trump will do everything humanly possible to go down in history as the BEST president EVER!

My position changed after Kate Steinle was murdered by an illegal immigrant who had been deported 5 times and was living in a sanctuary city. When President Obama never acknowledged her but had spoken many times on the Michael Brown case, I was furious. More on that frustration HERE.

When Donald Trump acknowledged her numerous times, my support shifted to him.

I am also frustrated with the “FREE” everything promise. When you give a man a fish, he eats for a day. When you teach a man to fish, he eats the rest of his life – that's the philosophy I live by and wish other people weren't so eager to accept handouts that keep the poor, poor and dependent.

We have become a very lazy, over-entitled society that would rather fill our day with excuses and entitlements than to work hard and reap the rewards of that hard work.

My position on illegal immigration:

Just last night Hillary said she would not build a wall but create a bridge, it angered me.

Stricter policies on illegal immigration are necessary, not only for our own safety, but for the safety and well-being of those who are being brought here illegally as one act of crime and thrust into a world of voluntary slavery for very low wages and in some cases, much worse in such cases as human trafficking and drugs.

I don't feel that the Democrats have been strict enough on deportation. Too many crimes are going unpunished. Too many lives are being lost. Only recently, President Obama has begun taking a stance on illegal immigration which has angered many Democrats – but I feel his efforts are a little too little and late!

I completely support people coming here legally where they can live and thrive, supported by our laws. When they are not here legally, they are not counted, they are not protected to the fullest extent and regardless of their intentions, they ARE breaking the law!

A friend of mine summed it up very well from a different perspective with this quote:

Deportation policies are an “Act of Love” for the poor, LEGAL residents of the U.S.A.
