The Sacrifice of General Mike Flynn

general mike flynn To understand where General Mike Flynn is coming from, you have to look at his entire background with respect to his lengthy, successful and highly decorated military career and his political leanings. He is a registered Democrat with a long history of Democratic ties.

Does that seem like someone who would normally be eager to join Donald Trump and his administration?

No.

So why did he do it?

Let's consider the Letter of the Law versus the Spirit of the Law. When one obeys the letter of the law but not the spirit, one is obeying the literal interpretation of the words (the “letter”) of the law, but not necessarily the intent of those who wrote the law. Keep that in mind as you read on…

The letter from Flynn's attorney says “General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it…” the letter goes on to mention the unfounded media claims and the demands of members of Congress that he be investigated. Keep in mind that General Flynn served as Security Adviser under President Trump for 23 days. Before that, he was Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency under Obama for more than 2 years and later terminated/forced to retire early, more on that in a bit.

General Flynn's military career was primarily operational, with numerous combat arms, conventional, and special operations senior intelligence assignments. He co-authored a report in January 2010 through the Center for a New American Security, entitled Fixing Intel: A Blueprint for Making Intelligence Relevant in Afghanistan. In addition, Flynn served as the commander of the Joint Functional Component Command for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, chair of the military intelligence board, assistant director of national intelligence, and the senior intelligence officer for the joint operations command. In 2014, he retired with 33 years service in the army, a year before he was scheduled to leave his position.

Much of Flynn’s military career was brilliant and distinguished. As director of intelligence for the military’s Joint Special Operations Command, he fearlessly challenged convention. As Dana Priest has reported, when JSOC staged raids, Flynn had personnel gather scraps of intelligence—cell-phone numbers, addresses, pocket trash. They relayed what they found back to Flynn and his analysts, who took these various data points and drew connections among them, spotting patterns and creating actionable intelligence. JSOC began rolling up networks it hadn’t been able to crack before.

In one final interview as DIA director, Flynn said he felt like a lone voice in thinking that the United States was less safe from the threat of Islamic terrorism in 2014 than it was prior to the 9/11 attacks; he went on to believe that he was pressed into retirement for questioning the Obama administration's public narrative that Al Qaeda was close to defeat. Journalist Seymour Hersh wrote that “Flynn confirmed [to Hersh] that his agency had sent a constant stream of classified warnings … about the dire consequences of toppling [Syrian President] Assad.” Flynn recounted that his agency was producing intelligence reports indicating that radical Islamists were the main force in the Syrian insurgency and “that Turkey was looking the other way when it came to the growth of the Islamic State inside Syria”. According to Flynn, these reports “got enormous pushback from the Obama administration,” who he felt “did not want to hear the truth“. According to former DIA official W. Patrick Lang: “Flynn incurred the wrath of the White House by insisting on telling the truth about Syria … they shoved him out. He wouldn't shut up.”

In an interview with Al Jazeera notes that Lieutenant General Michael Flynn became the highest ranking intelligence official to go on record,” saying the US and other states, notably Turkey and the Gulf Arab states, were sponsoring Al-Qaeda-led rebels in Syria with political support and weapons in an attempt to overthrow President Bashar Assad.

When Al Jazeera’s Hasan asked Flynn why he didn’t attempt to stop the US coordinating arms transfers to Islamic extremists, the retired general said: “I hate to say it’s not my job, but my job was to ensure the accuracy of our intelligence,” said Flynn, who also served as director of intelligence for the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) during the US hunt for Bin Laden.

If you recall, as one of the keynote speakers during the first night of the 2016 Republican National Convention, Flynn gave what the Los Angeles Times described as a “fiery” speech, in which he stated: “We are tired of Obama's empty speeches and his misguided rhetoric. This, this has caused the world to have no respect for America's word, nor does it fear our might“; he also accused Obama of choosing to conceal the actions of Osama bin Laden and ISIS. Flynn went on to critically address political correctness and joined the crowd in a chant of “U-S-A! U-S-A!”. During the chants he told those in the audience, “Get fired up! This is about our country.” During the speech, Flynn launched a blistering attack on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. He led the crowd in chants of “Lock her up!”; during one of those chants, he encouraged the crowd to keep it up, saying, “Damn right! Exactly right! There is nothing wrong with that!” He called for Clinton to withdraw from the race, saying that “if I did a tenth of what she did, I'd be in jail today.” He repeated in subsequent interviews that she should be “locked up”.

While campaigning for Trump, Flynn also referred to Clinton as the “enemy camp“. Six days after the speech, Flynn stirred up a controversy by retweeting antisemitic remarks, which he later apologized for and claimed were unintentional. During the election campaign, Flynn used Twitter to post links to negative stories about Clinton, including fake news like the Pizzagate conspiracy theory.

My Personal Opinion

Given 2+ years under Obama with ALL the claims Flynn has made in interviews (you can read some of those linked throughout this article) that obviously fell on deaf ears, with the YEARS of service he provided to the United States; all the intelligence information he has gathered, who do you think the story he wants to tell is about?

I believe General Flynn is a man of character. I believe he is about the truth. I believe he has seen and hear things many of us can’t begin to imagine in our wildest dreams, but, at the very core, I believe General Flynn is a true Patriot! I think President Trump is the ONLY path General Flynn saw to bring the truth out.

General Flynn knows Trump Tower was wiretapped. General Flynn, as highly decorated and honored as he is, offered himself up as a sacrifice to bring the corruption to light. He spent years trying to get people to listen – no one did. He allowed himself to be put in a position where he KNEW Obama and Hillary would place him under tight surveillance that would essentially catch them with their hands in the cookie jar.

Who do you really think is in the story he wants to tell?

Flynn is a very smart man! He knows Obama “wiretapped” Donald Trump and his team, he has likely participated in enough “wiretapping” missions to know when and where they will happen.

General Flynn has the knowledge, ability and proof to open a GIANT can of Fresh Hell on someone, but that someone is NOT President Trump.

The actions of establishment Democrats alone are enough to support my theory. They deflect everything that is newsworthy. They have complete meltdowns in public, the FBI and CIA which are both filled with Obama leftover moles refuse to take in evidence on any case other than the Russian narrative the left is trying so hard to keep in the headlines.

In the end, you have to ask, WHY would General Flynn, a man who has spent most of his life serving and protecting our country, risk destroying his 33 year military and USIC career?
